El XIV Congreso Internacional de Innovación Tecnológica Informática, CIITI, de la Facultad de Tecnología Informática y su Centro de Investigación, CAETI, de la Universidad Abierta Interamericana, UAI, es un espacio para la difusión, promoción y reflexión sobre la importancia de la innovación tecnológica informática como factor de competitividad.
La Innovación Tecnológica Informática no es condición suficiente, pero si necesaria, para enfrentar los cambios complejos y profundos de los factores sociales.
La globalización digital es un proceso que tiene una sólida base científica, siendo las nuevas tecnologías de la información y de la comunicación, NTICs, las facilitadoras para la gestión del conocimiento en el nuevo paradigma de la “economía del saber”. En el ámbito social, un nuevo modelo de conocimiento es promotor de integración intercultural y redes colaborativas, relegando las fronteras físicas en los procesos productivos de enseñanza e inclusive del entretenimiento.
El uso de las nuevas tecnologías de la información y la comunicación están modificando la vida cotidiana y profesional a nivel local, regional y global. Esto nos lleva a reflexionar sobre cómo nos adaptamos y construimos este nuevo escenario caracterizado por un espacio electrónico multicultural y plurilingüístico denominado “Cibercultura”.
